Providing Personal Information via the Region's Web site
Most of the information accessible on the Region's Web site does not require you to identify yourself. You may access it anonymously. However, the Regional Municipality of Durham does collect personal information about you when you choose to provide it. We collect only as much personal information as it necessary to assist you in conducting business with the Region via the Web site. The only personally identifying information arising from your use of the Regional Municipality of Durham's Web site is what you voluntarily supply . In the event that such information is submitted for inclusion in the Regional Municipality of Durham Visitor's Guide, then such information may be used for that purpose and may be used for sending you future tourism publications, newsletters and tourism notices unless you notify us that you do not wish us to do so. Except for the foregoing you will not be placed on any mailing lists nor will your personal information be released to any third party.
The Region does attempt to provide you with multiple "channels" for conducting business (i.e. telephone, walk-in, mail-in, fax-in) in addition to the Regional Municipality of Durham's Web site. Requiring you to enter your unique Login ID each time you conduct a transaction protects your personal information. Please note that your unique Login ID should never be shared with anyone.
