Scugog DowntownScugog Township is a tourist destination for all seasons, located on the shores of Lake Scugog, just an hour’s drive northeast of Toronto. Made up of charming hamlets and small villages with Port Perry as the hub, the Township of Scugog is steeped in history and has a variety of attractions and adventures for visitors of all ages.

Roadside farm stands beckon with fruits and vegetables picked fresh from the fields or pick your own. Discover the countryside winery, housed in a turn-of-the-century dairy barn.Ocala Orchards Farm Winery produces over 30 wines from orchard fruits, berries and grapes. The Port Perry Waterfront Farmer’s market operates Saturday mornings from June through Thanksgiving.

Scugog offers a wide variety of festivals and events including the Dragon Boat Festival and Chrome by the Lake in June,  Dog Days of Scugog at the Museum Village in July, Brits on the Lake in August and fall fairs in Blackstock and Port Perry.   Christmas wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the BIA Christmas tree lighting and Olde Fashion Christmas where carollers roam the streets and horse and carriage rides make your visit memorable.

As the GTA’s closest access to the Trent-Severn Waterway, Lake Scugog accommodates all types of boaters, from canoes to sailboats. Year-round fishing is outstanding-bass, walleye, muskie can all be caught in the lakes and rivers of Scugog Township. Marinas at Port Perry lakefront,  Westshore, Caesarea and Goreski’s Lakeside Resort supply all your  needs. Stroll the new waterfront trails and boardwalks, enjoy time watching the kids in the Splash Pad or join Scugog Island Cruises for a tour of the lake and learn the history of the area from the past to the present.

Fun is the name of the game at the Great Blue Heron Charity Casino, just minutes from Port Perry. Experience an exotic walk on the wild side at Northwood Buffalo and Exotic Animal Ranch. Stay overnight in the beautifully restored Piano Inn in Port Perry or the Nestleton Waters Inn near Blackstock.
