Old and New in Port Perry

Maybe it’s the view of Lake Scugog at the bottom of Queen Street, or it’s the beautifully maintained Victorian shop fronts, but Port Perry has always been a favourite shopping getaway destination. You will be drawn by the striking artworks in the window of Native Focus. F.M. Finds has some wonderful home décor objects like onion baskets imported from Holland and richly scented soaps from the Australian Rituelle line. Across the road at Russell’s Delectables, sample some brown sugar fudge or take home a bag of chocolate-and-nut covered sponge toffee.

The Thrill of the Ride

Of Ontario’s 40,000 kilometres of trails, the Port Perry Snowmobile Club grooms and maintains some 132 kilometres. The region can be justifiably proud of this well-maintained network. A pass to access the trails can be bought from the club and is valid at any of the trails affiliated with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. If you are tempted to try the sport, Port Perry Marina offers rentals that include a trail-use pass.
